The Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, has officially flagged off the construction of a long-anticipated bridge and the grading of the adjoining road in Amanyanwu Achara ward 7 Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area.
The project, which drew an enthusiastic turnout of traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, women groups, and party faithful, is expected to ease transportation challenges that have plagued residents of Amanyawu Achara and neighboring settlements for years. The proposed bridge will span a critical waterway that has often become impassable during the rainy season, cutting off access to farms, markets, schools, and health facilities.
Addressing the gathering at the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Johnson described the initiative as a fulfillment of his commitment to deliver people-oriented projects that directly improve the welfare of his constituents. He noted that infrastructural deficits in rural communities remain a major impediment to economic growth and social mobility, assuring residents that his representation would continue to prioritize practical interventions over rhetoric.
“This bridge and the grading of the linked road are not just construction projects; they are lifelines for our people,” he stated.
“For too long, our farmers have struggled to transport their produce, our children have navigated unsafe paths to school, and emergency situations have been complicated by poor access. Today marks the beginning of a lasting solution.”
Community stakeholders, in their separate remarks, expressed profound gratitude to the lawmaker for what they described as a responsive and attentive style of leadership.
