The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, has welcomed his constituents to the month of October, reaffirming his commitment to the continued development, progress and advancement of the constituency.
Aguocha, in his October goodwill message to the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia, expressed gratitude to God for His guidance and preservation, while urging constituents to approach the new month with renewed faith, optimism and a determination to contribute meaningfully to the growth of their communities.
The federal lawmaker also used the occasion to remind eligible voters of the importance of civic participation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He encouraged constituents to ensure that their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, are ready, stressing that participation in the electoral process remains an important means through which citizens can exercise their constitutional rights and influence the direction of governance.
According to him, every eligible voter should take the necessary steps to prepare for the elections, including ensuring that members of their households who are qualified to vote are equally prepared. He emphasised that the electorate must recognise the significance of their votes as a means of expressing their preferences and participating in the democratic process.
Aguocha further called on the people to remain hopeful and grateful despite the challenges they may have encountered, noting that life comes with moments of difficulties, delays, blessings and breakthroughs. He encouraged his constituents to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God's ability to guide their affairs and bring their aspirations to fruition.
The lawmaker prayed that the month of October would bring greater opportunities, prosperity, peace and fulfilment to the people, particularly those engaged in various businesses, professions and other endeavours.
