“A Leader Worth Celebrating” — Akaliro Joins Stakeholders to Honour Gov Otti at Historic Constituency Reception

Umuahia, Abia State| April 11, 2026 —

Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, member representing Umuahia North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, joined a broad coalition of stakeholders, community leaders, and political actors in a historic grand civic reception held in honour of Alex Otti, in recognition of his administration’s widely acknowledged achievements across the state.

The reception, organized by stakeholders from Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Local Government Areas, attracted a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Umuahia Township Stadium yesterday, April 10, 2026. The event underscored a growing wave of grassroots support for Governor Otti, with participants pointing to visible improvements in infrastructure, governance standards, and economic revitalization as key indicators of progress.
Speaking, Akaliro described Gov. Otti as “a leader worth celebrating,” emphasizing that the recognition was both timely and deserved. 

What we are witnessing here today is not orchestrated admiration but a genuine expression of gratitude from the people,” he said. 
When leadership translates into tangible development, the people will naturally respond with appreciation, and that is exactly what this gathering represents.”
He further noted that the administration has redefined governance in Abia State through a deliberate focus on transparency, accountability, and results-driven policies. According to him, the strides recorded in road rehabilitation, urban renewal, and institutional reforms have restored confidence in public leadership.

Gov Otti has shown that governance can be purposeful and impactful. The difference is clear, and the people can feel it in their daily lives,” Akaliro stated.
The lawmaker also commended the unity displayed by the three local government areas in organizing the reception, describing it as a powerful demonstration of collective ownership of progress. 
This level of coordination among Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South speaks volumes. It shows that development is being felt across communities and that our people are united in acknowledging good governance,” he added.

Akaliro used the platform to call for sustained support for policies that promote inclusive growth and long-term development. He stressed the importance of continuity in leadership that prioritizes the welfare of citizens over political considerations. 
We must continue to encourage leadership that delivers. Our responsibility as representatives is to align with what benefits the people and ensure that such progress is not only sustained but expanded,” he said.

Various groups took turns to commend the governor’s leadership style, while also expressing optimism about the future trajectory of the state under his administration.
In his concluding remarks, Akaliro reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and pledged continued collaboration with the state government in advancing development initiatives.
