He noted that the sacrifices of teachers often extend beyond the formal boundaries of the classroom, as they serve as mentors, role models and custodians of knowledge and values for successive generations.
The Ikwuano Mayor particularly acknowledged the contributions of teachers within the local government area, describing their role as critical to the development of the communities and the emergence of a knowledgeable, skilled and responsible population. He acknowledged that the society could not thank the teachers enough for their positive impact in the life everyone at one time or the other. He said he was personal grateful to teachers for their roles in his life. He added that the quality of education available to children in Ikwuano is intrinsically linked to the commitment and professionalism of the teachers who nurture them, stressing that their daily efforts constitute a significant investment in the future of the local government and Abia State at large.
According to him, teachers remain at the heart of every meaningful educational transformation, as infrastructure and educational policies can only achieve their intended objectives when supported by competent, motivated and dedicated educators.
Against this background, Dr Nwaubani, praised the education-friendly governor of our time, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR- governor of Abia State, for his sustained investment in education, teacher development, learning facilities and the welfare of learners, through his increasing budget allocations to education and health. The Mayor further thanked the governor for making education free and compulsory in the State from Primary to junior secondary school and for clearing salary arrears and ensuring regular payment of teachers salaries in Abia State.

He commended Abia teachers for maintaining the state’s longstanding reputation for academic excellence and intellectual advancement, despite the evolving challenges confronting the education sector in the nation.
The Mayor urged teachers in Ikwuano and across the State to continue upholding the virtues of professionalism, discipline, integrity and compassion, while embracing innovation, continuous learning and modern teaching methodologies to equip pupils and students for the demands of the contemporary world. He assured the teachers that under Dr Alex Otti and the Ikwuano LG Administration, they would be receiving their bountiful reward here on earth not only in heaven.
