The Executive Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Hon. Dr Anthony Nzeribe Nwaubani, has celebrated the Head of Service of the council, Mrs Comfort Ola Onyeabor, on her birthday, describing her as a dependable administrator whose dedication has contributed significantly to the effective running of the council.
The birthday celebration, which took place on Friday, September 5, 2026, at the Mayor’s Office, came as a pleasant surprise to the Mayor and members of the council management, as staff, family members, friends and well-wishers gathered to honour the much-loved Head of Service.
The Mayor, who was away participating in the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers in Ikwuano through the Abia State Government’s agricultural support programme, had to hasten back to his office to join the birthday gathering and personally celebrate the celebrant.
The atmosphere at the Mayor’s Office was charged with warmth and excitement as members of the council’s management and staff, alongside relatives, friends and well-wishers of Mrs Onyeabor, expressed their goodwill and appreciation for her years of dedicated service.
Speaking during the celebration, Mayor Nwaubani warmly congratulated Mrs Onyeabor, noting that her birthday provided an opportunity not only to celebrate another year of life but also to acknowledge her contributions to the growth and administration of Ikwuano Local Government.
He commended the Head of Service for her commitment, professionalism, administrative experience and cordial relationship with members of staff, stressing that effective local government administration requires dedicated personnel who understand the importance of teamwork, diligence and service to the people.
Nwaubani further prayed that God would continue to preserve Mrs Onyeabor, strengthen her and grant her greater wisdom and grace as she continues to discharge her responsibilities. He wished her many more years of good health, fulfilment, peace and prosperity.
The Mayor also expressed optimism that the celebrant would continue to bring her wealth of experience to bear in the administration of Ikwuano, contributing to the council’s drive for improved service delivery and sustainable development.
In her response, Mrs Onyeabor expressed appreciation to the Mayor, council management, staff, family members, friends and well-wishers for the thoughtful celebration and the outpouring of goodwill. She thanked the Mayor for making time to return from his official engagement to personally join the birthday gathering.
