Eid El Kabir: Hon Emeka Obioma Greets Muslim Faithful, Calls for Peace and Unity

The Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Obioma, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Abia State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Kabir celebration, calling for sustained peace, unity, and mutual understanding among Nigerians.

In a goodwill message released on Thursday to commemorate the Islamic festival, Obioma described Eid El Kabir as a sacred celebration that embodies the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. He noted that the lessons of the season remain highly significant, especially at a time when the nation is confronted with economic, social, and security challenges.

The lawmaker urged Nigerians, irrespective of religious and ethnic affiliations, to embrace tolerance and peaceful coexistence as necessary ingredients for national stability and development. According to him, the strength of Nigeria lies in its diversity, and citizens must continue to promote harmony, understanding, and respect for one another in order to preserve the unity of the country.

Obioma emphasized that the spirit of Eid El Kabir should inspire leaders and citizens alike to make sacrifices for the common good, support the less privileged, and work collectively toward building a more inclusive and prosperous society. He stated that acts of kindness, generosity, and empathy toward the needy remain among the core values of the celebration.

He further commended Muslim faithful for their prayers for the peace and progress of Nigeria, while encouraging them to continue promoting moral values, love, and social responsibility within their communities. The lawmaker expressed optimism that with unity of purpose and sincere leadership, Nigeria would overcome its present difficulties and achieve greater national advancement.

Hon. Obioma also called on political leaders at all levels to place the welfare of the people above personal interests, stressing that responsive governance and genuine commitment to public service are essential for restoring hope among citizens.

While wishing Muslims a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid El Kabir celebration, Obioma prayed for enduring peace, security, and economic prosperity across the country. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the people and fostering unity among diverse groups.

May this season of sacrifice strengthen the bonds of love, peace, and brotherhood among Nigerians, and may God continue to bless our nation with unity, stability, and progress,” he stated.
