Otti We Know 2027: Labour Party's Onyekwere Akym Uche Rallies Diaspora Support for Gov Otti

International businessman, Politician and Philantropist, High Chief Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial race.

The endorsement, which took place in the United States of America where OAU is based, has sparked renewed momentum among diaspora supporters of the governor’s administration.

Onyekwere Akym Uche, who is the founder of the OAU Foundation and a known advocate for good governance, made his position clear during a gathering of like-minded diasporans committed to promoting credible leadership. The event witnessed the unveiling of the “Otti We Know Movement,” a diaspora-driven initiative aimed at mobilizing support for Gov. Otti’s continuity in office.

The atmosphere at the gathering was electrifying, as supporters passionately chanted slogans in solidarity with the Abia governor. All the participants were seen wearing branded T-shirts boldly inscribed with the phrase “Otti We Know 27, Who are you,” a statement that reflects both confidence in Otti’s leadership and a challenge to potential contenders in the upcoming election cycle.

Speaking, Akym praised Gov Alex Otti’s performance in office, noting that his administration has demonstrated a commitment to transparency, infrastructural renewal, and economic revitalization. He emphasized that the governor’s leadership style aligns with the principles of accountability and people-oriented governance, which he described as critical to sustainable development.

OAU further stressed that the diaspora community remains a critical stakeholder in Nigeria’s democratic process, particularly in advocating for leaders who have shown capacity and integrity. He called on Nigerians at home and abroad to support leaders who have proven their competence through tangible results rather than mere political rhetoric.

According to him, the “Otti We Know Movement” is not just a political campaign slogan but a reflection of widespread confidence in Otti’s ability to consolidate on the gains already recorded in Abia State. He added that the movement would continue to expand its reach, engaging more stakeholders across continents in the lead-up to 2027.

Observers note that this endorsement adds to a growing list of support for Gov Otti from various quarters, including political stakeholders, community leaders, and the diaspora. As the political landscape gradually begins to take shape ahead of the next election, such developments are expected to play a significant role in influencing public discourse and voter alignment.
