Hon. Emeka Obioma, the Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly and member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, has stated that the impressive achievements of Alex Otti directly inspired the massive civic reception recently organized by stakeholders from Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Local Government Areas in honour of the governor.
Speaking in the aftermath of the grand event held at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Obioma described the overwhelming turnout as a spontaneous and genuine expression of appreciation by the people, driven by visible improvements in governance and development across the state. He noted that the reception was not politically contrived, but rather a reflection of public satisfaction with the administration’s performance.
This was not a staged gathering,” Obioma remarked. “What we witnessed was a people-driven demonstration of gratitude. The citizens have seen the changes, they have felt the impact, and they have come out in their numbers to say thank you to a leader who is working.”
He further highlighted key areas where the Otti administration has made significant strides, including road infrastructure, institutional reforms, and the revitalization of economic activities. According to him, the governor’s leadership has restored confidence in public service and set a new standard for governance in Abia State.
Across communities, there is a renewed sense of hope,” Obioma stated. “From improved road networks to more accountable governance structures, the difference is clear. Gov Otti has shown that with the right leadership, progress is not just possible, it is inevitable.”
The lawmaker also emphasized that the scale and organization of the civic reception reflected a rare level of unity among the three local government areas, describing it as a testament to shared aspirations for continued development. He commended the collaborative spirit that brought together diverse groups under a common purpose of celebrating good governance.
What happened yesterday at Umuahia township stadium is historic,” he added. “It shows that when leadership delivers, divisions give way to unity. People from different backgrounds came together, not for politics, but for progress.”
Obioma used the opportunity to call for sustained support for the administration, urging citizens to remain engaged and committed to the development agenda of the state. He stressed that continuity and collective responsibility are essential to consolidating the gains already recorded.
We must not relent,” he said. “Development is a continuous process, and it requires the support of the people. What we have seen so far is encouraging, but there is still more to be done, and together, we can achieve even greater milestones.”
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to effective representation and alignment with policies that prioritize the welfare of the people. Obioma assured constituents that he would continue to work collaboratively with the state government to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of his constituency.
The grand civic reception stands as a defining moment in Abia’s political and civic landscape, symbolizing a growing consensus around leadership that delivers results and inspires confidence among the people.
