The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has called for deeper participation of Nigerian youths in national growth and community development.
Tuggar, who described young Nigerians as “active partners” in shaping national progress, made the remarks during an interactive evening with Nigerian youths, hosted by the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dayo Israel, at the Youth House in Abuja.
The minister stressed that the country’s development goals could be achieved if the potential of its youth was properly harnessed.
The event focused on leadership, diplomacy, and the role of young people in advancing Nigeria’s global and domestic priorities.
Tuggar noted that the nation’s development trajectory depended significantly on harnessing the ideas, innovation, and participation of its youthful population, as he urged young citizens to remain actively engaged in civic processes and policy conversations that shaped the country’s future.
The programme featured open exchanges, reflections on youth-driven development, and a shared commitment to sustaining partnerships that empower young people across the country.
Speaking at the event, Israel noted that the engagement formed part of broader efforts to strengthen dialogue between government leaders and young Nigerians while creating platforms that encouraged participation in nation-building.
