International business man and Politician, Prince Obinna Ejebi, has called for renewed unity and collective responsibility among stakeholders in Umuahia Central, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved through inclusiveness, dialogue, and shared purpose.
He made the call during a special interactive session with journalists in Umuahia to deliberate on the future of the constituency and the wider Abia project.
Ejebi emphasized that Umuahia Central stands at a critical juncture where cooperation must override partisan divides and personal interests. According to him, the area’s rich human capital and strategic importance demand a leadership mindset anchored on service, transparency, and long-term planning. He noted that communities thrive when citizens see themselves as partners in governance rather than spectators.
In his remarks, Prince Ejebi commended Gov Alex Chioma Otti for what he described as a clear commitment to inclusive governance and people-centered reforms across Abia State. He said the governor’s approach has restored hope and confidence in public administration, particularly through policies that prioritize accountability, infrastructure renewal, and social equity.
“Dr Alex Otti has shown that governance can be both firm and fair,” Ejebi said.
“His insistence on transparency and inclusion sends a strong message that every community matters and that development must touch the lives of ordinary people, not just statistics on paper.”
Obinna Ejebi also urged young people in Umuahia to embrace constructive engagement and reject divisive narratives that undermine progress. He stressed that the youths are not merely beneficiaries of development but drivers of innovation and civic responsibility.
“Our youths must see themselves as co-builders of the future we desire,” he stated. “When young minds are empowered and united, sustainable progress becomes inevitable.”
Prince Ejebi also highlighted the need for community-led initiatives that complement government efforts, particularly in education, skills acquisition, and local enterprise development. He maintained that sustainable growth requires continuity and ownership at the grassroots level.
“Development is strongest when communities take ownership of ideas and institutions that serve them,” he said. “Government can lead, but the people must sustain.”
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to fostering unity and constructive dialogue in Umuahia Central, calling on leaders across political, traditional, and religious lines to work together for the common good.
“Our diversity should be our strength,” Ejebi remarked. “If we stand united and align with the vision of inclusive governance being championed in Abia today, Umuahia Central will not only progress, it will set the pace for others to follow.”
