The President-General of the Igbo World Union (IWU), His Imperial Majesty, Amb. Sir Dr. Mishak Nnanta, KJW, Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum, has extended his warm New month greetings to Nigerians, urging them to embrace their cultural heritage and unity as a guiding force for progress and development.
In his address, Amb. Nnanta emphasized the importance of cultural identity, reminding Nigerians of the rich traditions that define them as a people.
He stated, "As we welcome this new month, let us take a moment to reflect on our roots, our values, and the heritage that has shaped us. Our culture is our identity, and preserving it is a duty we must all uphold."
The IWU President highlighted the critical role of unity among Nigerians, particularly among the Igbo people, stressing that collective progress is achievable when individuals remain committed to their shared values.
"Unity is the strength of any people. When we stand together, bound by our common history and aspirations, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way. Let this month remind us of the power of togetherness," he said.
His Imperial Majesty Nnanta, also took the opportunity to encourage Nigerians to remain steadfast in their pursuit of peace and national development. He called on citizens to work diligently towards a harmonious society where mutual respect and cooperation thrive.
"Our nation’s greatness lies in the hands of its people. It is our collective responsibility to build a Nigeria where justice, equity, and progress reign supreme," he remarked.
Acknowledging the socio-economic challenges facing the nation, the IWU leader reassured Nigerians that resilience and faith in their heritage will serve as a beacon of hope.
"Difficult times are not new to us as a people. Our ancestors faced challenges and triumphed because they never lost sight of who they were. We, too, must remain resolute and draw strength from our heritage to move forward," he added.
As Nigerians step into the month of April, Amb. Nnanta urged them to actively engage in cultural preservation, education, and economic empowerment, emphasizing that a people who know their past are better equipped to shape their future.
"Let us invest in the next generation by teaching them the values of hard work, respect, and integrity. Our traditions and customs must not fade away with time; rather, they should serve as guiding lights for future generations," he advised.
