A new platform dedicated to awakening the potential, strengthening the voices, and advancing the leadership capacity of African women is set to debut as SheWakes Africa prepares to host its inaugural Convergence Experience on Saturday, November 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State.
The event, themed “Walk Through the Fire,” is scheduled to take place at Rapha Hotel, Umuahia, beginning at 11:00 a.m. (prompt), with a vision to inspire women to rise above challenges, embrace their purpose, discover their inherent abilities, and become agents of meaningful transformation in their communities.
SheWakes Africa, which describes its mission as building the 360-degree woman, seeks to create an empowering platform where women can connect, share experiences, explore their potential, and draw inspiration from one another. The convergence is expected to bring together women from different backgrounds and professional fields for conversations centred on personal development, resilience, leadership, faith, and purposeful living.
The theme, “Walk Through the Fire,” highlights the importance of resilience, courage, and the ability to navigate life's difficult seasons without allowing adversity to extinguish one's aspirations. With the accompanying message, “Not Burned, Not Broken, Bigger,” the initiative seeks to remind women that challenging experiences need not define their limitations but can become opportunities for growth, renewed determination, and personal reinvention.
The inaugural gathering will feature powerful conversations, worship and prayer, networking opportunities, and a karaoke after-party, providing participants with opportunities for meaningful engagement, spiritual reflection, relationship-building, and shared experiences.
