Every generation owes a debt of gratitude to the teachers who have contributed to its growth, and I am proud to recognise the dedication of our teachers who continue to give their best in the service of our communities,” Akaliro said.
He stressed that sustainable development cannot be achieved without a strong and functional educational system, noting that investment in education should remain a priority at all levels of government. He said his legislative and constituency interventions would continue to place emphasis on initiatives capable of expanding educational opportunities and improving the wellbeing of constituents.

We must also contribute to creating opportunities that enable our children and young people to acquire quality education and develop the skills required to thrive. I will continue to support initiatives that advance education in Umuahia North and promote the welfare of our teachers and learners. Our investment in education today will determine the quality of leadership and development we experience tomorrow,” he added.
The lawmaker also encouraged teachers to embrace continuous professional development, innovation and emerging educational technologies, stressing that the changing demands of the modern world require educators to constantly update their knowledge and teaching methods. He urged them to remain committed to professionalism, integrity, compassion and discipline in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Akaliro called for greater collaboration among government, teachers, parents, traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders in strengthening education across Umuahia North and Abia State. He maintained that while government has a significant role to play, the collective responsibility of families and communities remains essential to ensuring that children receive not only quality academic instruction but also proper moral and character formation.
