The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has extended its ₦66-per-litre petrol discount promotion by one week, giving motorists and other customers additional time to benefit from the offer.
The promotion, which was initially scheduled to end on October 7, 2026, will now run until October 14 at NNPC retail outlets nationwide. The company has also expanded the initiative to include Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel.
NNPC Ltd announced the extension in a promotional notice shared on its official social media platform, urging customers to take advantage of the additional week to enjoy the discount.
The company stated that the extension was designed to provide more opportunities for customers who missed the initial promotional period to benefit from the price reduction.
The discount initiative was introduced on October 1 as part of activities marking Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary. Under the promotion, eligible customers can access the ₦66 discount on petrol, with diesel now included in the extended offer.
In its announcement, the company encouraged motorists and other customers to visit participating NNPC retail outlets before the revised deadline, noting that the promotion remains subject to applicable terms and conditions.
NNPC Ltd also urged customers to download and use the NNPC Fuel App to access the promotional offer. Interested customers can obtain the application through the link provided by the company or by scanning the designated QR code.
The extension comes amid varying petrol prices across the country, largely reflecting differences in distribution and transportation costs. Available price information indicates that petrol was listed at ₦1,355 per litre in Lagos and Rivers states, while the price in Abuja stood at ₦1,370 per litre.
The latest extension is expected to offer temporary relief to eligible consumers by reducing their fuel expenditure during the promotional period.
Customers have been advised to take advantage of the offer before it expires on October 14, 2026, and to confirm the applicable terms at participating NNPC retail outlets.
