The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots mobilisation and inclusive political participation, urging political leaders and stakeholders in Ohiya to remain united and steadfast in their support for the administration of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, and the Labour Party.
Aguocha made the call when he joined other prominent political leaders at a meeting of the Alex Otti Key Movement, a grassroots political structure established to promote the ideals and programmes of Gov. Otti and strengthen support for the Labour Party. The meeting, held at Ohiya, provided an opportunity for the lawmaker to interact directly with members of the political structure and other grassroots stakeholders.
The meeting was hosted at the Ohiya residence of Lady Ure Abazie, the leader of the Alex Otti Key Movement. The gathering brought together party loyalists, community mobilisers and political stakeholders who reviewed the importance of grassroots engagement in sustaining the gains recorded under the present administration.
In his address, Aguocha emphasised the strategic importance of grassroots participation in building a formidable political movement. He encouraged the Ohiya stakeholders to remain organised, united and committed to the collective political aspirations of the Labour Party, stressing that a strong grassroots structure remains indispensable to the sustenance of progressive governance.
The federal lawmaker also commended the members of the Alex Otti Key Movement for their dedication and continued commitment to the political structure. He urged them to maintain their mobilisation efforts and ensure that the interests and aspirations of the people remain at the centre of their political activities.
Aguocha further stressed the need for unity among grassroots leaders, noting that political cohesion and purposeful engagement would strengthen the ability of the people to articulate their needs and attract meaningful government attention to their communities. He encouraged the stakeholders to work collaboratively rather than allow individual interests to undermine the broader objective of advancing the development of Ohiya and Abia State.
The lawmaker's engagement also underscored the importance of sustained support for Gov Alex Otti and the Labour Party. He encouraged the political leaders to remain actively involved in promoting the administration's development agenda while continuing to mobilise the people around policies and initiatives capable of improving their welfare and strengthening the state's socioeconomic foundation.
The meeting also featured remarks from the Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Obioma, who reaffirmed his strong connection with Ohiya Autonomous Community. Obioma commended Lady Ure Abazie for her dedication to the interests of her community and her commitment to supporting government programmes and initiatives.
The gathering ended with renewed calls for grassroots unity, effective mobilisation and sustained political engagement. The leaders urged members of the Alex Otti Key Movement to remain steadfast, organised and committed to the collective vision of promoting good governance, community development and the continued success of the Labour Party in Abia State.
