Former Abia State governorship candidate, renowned philanthropist, international businessman, and founder of the OAU Foundation, Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), has expressed profound appreciation to supporters of the Labour Party across Abia State while expressing strong confidence in the party's prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in the aftermath of the successful conduct of the Labour Party primaries in Abia State, OAU commended party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, and members for their commitment to democratic principles, unity, and peaceful participation throughout the exercise. He described the primaries as a reflection of the party's growing maturity and readiness to consolidate on the gains recorded in recent years.
The respected businessman and humanitarian noted that the emergence of the party's candidates through a transparent and peaceful process has further strengthened public confidence in the Labour Party as a platform committed to accountability, good governance, and people-oriented leadership. According to him, the conduct of the primaries demonstrated that the party remains focused on its mission of delivering sustainable development and transformational leadership to the people.
OAU specifically congratulated Gov. Alex Chioma Otti on his successful emergence as the Labour Party's governorship candidate for the 2027 election, describing the governor as a visionary leader whose administration has continued to inspire hope among Abians. He stated that Otti's achievements in infrastructure development, public sector reforms, healthcare, education, and economic revitalization have earned him widespread support across the state.
He also congratulated other candidates who emerged from the primaries, urging them to remain focused on service to the people and the advancement of the collective aspirations of Abia citizens.
