High Chief Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), the founder of the OAU foundation, business man/Politician and a member of the Labour Party, has praised the leadership style of Gov Alex Otti, stating that Abia is currently experiencing a new era of purposeful governance marked by transparency, accountability, and visible development.
Speaking while reacting to the successful conduct of the Labour Party primaries in the state, OAU described the exercise as a reflection of the positive political culture that has continued to flourish under the leadership of Gov Otti. According to him, the peaceful and transparent nature of the primaries demonstrated the growing commitment of party members and leaders to democratic principles, internal cohesion, and respect for due process.
He noted that unlike what is often witnessed in many political environments where primary elections are characterized by disputes, violence, and allegations of manipulation, the Labour Party primaries in Abia State were conducted in an orderly and credible manner. He attributed this achievement to the culture of discipline and accountability that has been entrenched within the party and government under the present administration.
Onyekwere Akym Uche further stated that Otti's approach to governance has restored public confidence in leadership and inspired many citizens to actively participate in the democratic process. He observed that the administration's commitment to infrastructural development, prudent management of public resources, and delivery of people-oriented projects has earned the trust and admiration of residents across the state.
According to him, the governor's leadership has brought renewed hope to Abians who for many years desired a government that prioritizes service above politics. He emphasized that the visible transformation taking place in various sectors of the state's economy has strengthened the belief that good governance remains the most effective instrument for sustainable development and social progress.
Akym also commended members of the Labour Party for their maturity and unity throughout the primary election process, stressing that the outcome reflected the collective determination of party faithful to consolidate the gains already achieved by the party in Abia State. He urged party members to remain focused and committed to the ideals of integrity, inclusiveness, and service as preparations begin for future electoral contests.
The Labour Party faithful maintained that the successes recorded by the current administration have positioned the party as a credible platform for progressive governance and people-centered leadership. He expressed confidence that the achievements of Gov Alex Otti would continue to serve as a reference point for effective governance not only in Abia State but across Nigeria.
While congratulating all candidates who emerged victorious during the primaries, OAU called on party supporters and stakeholders to close ranks and work together in the interest of the state. He stressed that unity remains essential for sustaining the developmental momentum currently being witnessed across Abia.
He further encouraged elected officials and political leaders to emulate the governor's commitment to transparency, hard work, and accountability, noting that leadership should always be measured by its impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
Concluding his remarks, Onyekwere Akym Uche reiterated his belief that Abia State has entered a new phase of development under Otti's administration.
