International business man and founder of the OAU foundation, High Chief Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), has felicitated with Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Kabir celebration, urging citizens to uphold the virtues of peace, sacrifice, tolerance, and national unity for the advancement of the country.
In a goodwill message issued on Thursday to mark the Islamic festival, Akym described Eid El Kabir as a significant spiritual season that reflects the values of obedience to God, compassion for humanity, and selfless service to society. He noted that the celebration offers Nigerians another opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and promote peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
According to him, Nigeria’s progress depends largely on the ability of its citizens to live together in harmony and work collectively toward the common good. He stressed that unity, mutual respect, and love for one another remain essential foundations for sustainable peace and national development.
Akym further called on Nigerians to use the festive period to extend kindness and support to the less privileged, particularly widows, orphans, displaced persons, and struggling families affected by the nation’s economic realities. He stated that the true essence of Eid El Kabir lies not only in celebration but also in sacrifice, generosity, and concern for humanity.
The Abia-born Philantropist expressed concern over the prevailing economic and security challenges confronting the country and urged leaders at all levels to prioritize policies and actions that would improve the welfare of the people. He emphasized the need for sincere leadership, accountability, and people-oriented governance capable of restoring hope and confidence among citizens.
OAU also commended Muslim faithful for their continuous prayers for peace, stability, and unity in Nigeria, noting that spiritual devotion and moral discipline are critical in building a just and progressive society. He encouraged Nigerians not to give up on the nation despite present difficulties, expressing optimism that better days lie ahead for the country.
While wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyful Eid El Kabir celebration, he prayed for God’s guidance, protection, and abundant blessings upon Nigeria and its people. He further prayed for enduring peace across all regions of the country and renewed prosperity for families and communities.
“May this sacred season inspire greater love, understanding, and unity among Nigerians, and may God grant our nation lasting peace, progress, and prosperity,” Akym stated.
