The award was presented during a familiarisation meeting with the newly inaugurated executives of Mgbelu Umunneukwu Autonomous Community, held at the country home of Dr. Iyke Ezeugo.
The well attended event brought together alumni members, community leaders, stakeholders, and invited guests who gathered to celebrate leadership anchored on service and innovation. The atmosphere reflected unity and shared purpose as participants commended the role of alumni associations and community institutions in promoting good governance and grassroots development.

They noted that the award was in recognition of his dedication to public service, support for community driven initiatives, and his ability to introduce innovative ideas that address societal needs.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Johnson expressed profound gratitude to COSSAAW for the honour, describing it as a humbling recognition of collective effort rather than personal achievement.
“I am deeply honoured by this award from COSSAAW. It is a reminder that leadership is about service to humanity and making meaningful impact in the lives of the people,” he said. “This recognition motivates me to do even more.”
Hon. Johnson also appreciated the host of the event, Dr. Iyke Ezeugo, whom he described as a friend and brother committed to community unity and progress.
“I sincerely thank my brother, Dr. Iyke Ezeugo, for opening his home for this important engagement. His passion for development and community cohesion is truly commendable,” he stated.
Speaking on the familiarisation meeting with the new executives of Mgbelu Umunneukwu Autonomous Community, Hon. Johnson emphasized the importance of inclusive leadership, accountability, and cooperation.
“The emergence of new executives brings renewed hope and fresh ideas. I encourage you to lead with integrity, transparency, and a strong sense of responsibility to the people,” he said. “Sustainable development can only be achieved when leaders work together for the common good.”
He further dedicated the award to the people he serves, stressing that their support remains his driving force.
“This award belongs to the people whose trust and encouragement inspire our work every day. Together, we will continue to pursue innovative solutions that uplift our communities and secure a better future for the next generation,” Hon. Johnson added.
