Ikwuano, Abia State| October 13, 2026 —
The Local Government Ladies Association (LOGLA), Ikwuano Chapter, has paid a visit to the Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Council, Hon. Anthony Nzeribe Nwaubani, PhD, FCA, FCIB, to express appreciation for his consistent support and assistance to the association, describing his gesture as unprecedented since the establishment of the group in the local government area.
The delegation, which visited the Mayor at the Ikwuano Local Government Council Headquarters
earlier today, was received in the presence of the Mayoress, Princess Nnenna Fidelia Nwaubani. The women said the visit was organised to acknowledge the Mayor's goodwill and recognise his contributions to the association, particularly his support on July 28, 2026, which they described as a significant milestone in the history of LOGLA in Ikwuano.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Chairperson of LOGLA, Ikwuano Chapter, Mrs. Isaac Akuchi, said the women considered it important to visit the Mayor collectively to convey their profound gratitude for his assistance and the recognition he had helped the association achieve.
Mrs. Isaac stated that the association had not experienced such support since its establishment, noting that the Mayor's intervention had elevated its profile beyond the local government level.
“In fact, we have not experienced this kind of support since the inception of LOGLA, Ikwuano Chapter. You made our name heard even at the state level,” she said.
She explained that the women had been planning the appreciation visit for a while, but eventually resolved that the time had come to express their gratitude in person. According to her, the visit was long overdue.
Introducing other members of the delegation, Mrs. Isaac identified the Deputy Chairperson, Mrs. Ngozi Shedrach, alongside the association's Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Chioma Ehiemere, as members who accompanied her on the visit.
The LOGLA chairperson described Mayor Nwaubani as a father to the association, commending his kindness and willingness to respond whenever the women sought his assistance. She offered prayers for the Mayor, asking God to grant him success in his endeavours, while acknowledging that their visit was an expression of gratitude rather than a presentation of material gifts.
“We do not have silver or gold, but all we want to say is thank you, sir, and God bless you,” she said, while also extending the association's appreciation and prayers to the Mayoress, Princess Nnenna Fidelia Nwaubani, who was present during the visit.
Responding, Mayor Nwaubani welcomed the delegation and commended the women for their show of appreciation, describing their gesture as encouraging and worthy of recognition.
The Mayor said he had observed that many people were genuinely grateful for even the smallest acts of assistance, adding that such expressions of appreciation were encouraging and reinforced the value of service to others.
In conclusion, he encouraged the women to cultivate and sustain such relationship with God, noting that gratitude, humility and faith were important virtues that could help open doors of opportunity.
“If you develop and maintain this type of relationship with God, you will see that He will open doors for you,” he said, reiterating his appreciation for the delegation's visit and praying for God's blessings upon the women.
