In a goodwill message issued to newsmen on Saturday, OAU expressed profound gratitude to God for His abundant grace, mercy, and faithfulness in preserving the lives of the people and granting them the privilege of witnessing the beginning of another month. He described the arrival of August as another opportunity for renewed aspirations, greater accomplishments, and sustained efforts toward building a more prosperous Abia.
According to him, every new month offers a fresh beginning and a chance to strengthen the bonds of unity, peace, and mutual understanding among citizens. He encouraged Abians to remain optimistic despite prevailing challenges, stressing that resilience, hard work, and collective responsibility remain indispensable ingredients for sustainable development and lasting prosperity.
"I heartily congratulate every son and daughter of Abia State on the successful commencement of the month of August. It is my sincere prayer that this new month will usher in divine favour, abundant blessings, sound health, peace, and greater opportunities for every family and community across our dear state. Let us continue to believe in our shared future and remain steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote the growth and development of Abia," OAU stated.
Onyekwere Akym Uche further commended the resilience and industrious spirit of the people of Abia, describing them as the greatest asset of the state. He noted that the determination and enterprise demonstrated by Abians continue to inspire confidence in the state's future, urging citizens to remain united in advancing the ideals of good governance, accountability, and inclusive development.
OAU also reaffirmed his unwavering support for the transformational agenda of Gov. Alex Otti, noting that the administration's ongoing investments in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic revitalisation are laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth. He urged Abians to continue supporting policies and programmes that are designed to improve the quality of life and reposition Abia as a leading destination for investment and innovation.
He emphasized that the progress of Abia is a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of government, community leaders, civil society, the private sector, and every citizen. He encouraged the youth to remain focused, embrace innovation, acquire productive skills, and seize emerging opportunities that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to the state's socio-economic transformation.
