Hon Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), Former Abia State governorship candidate and OAU foundation founder, has extended warm New Year greetings to all Abians, urging them to embrace unity, peace, and collective responsibility as the state and nation step into 2026.
In his New Year message, he called on Ndi to continue support good leadership and actively participate in initiatives that promote sustainable development.
Speaking, OAU expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and the resilience of Abians. He described the New Year as a period for reflection, renewed hope, and the strengthening of the social fabric of the state.
“As we usher in this New Year, I sincerely pray for peace, good health, and prosperity for all Abians,” Akym said. “This is a time to thank God for His guidance and protection, and to renew our commitment to working together to achieve a better Abia and Nigeria.”
Onyekwere Akym emphasized that the progress of Abia State depends on the collective effort of both leaders and citizens. He noted that good governance thrives when citizens engage responsibly with political processes and hold leaders accountable for their actions.
“Development is a shared responsibility, and we all have a role to play,” he stated. “I urge our people to support initiatives that advance transparency, inclusivity, and the overall welfare of our communities. When citizens actively participate and leaders act with integrity, progress becomes tangible.”
The politician also highlighted the importance of unity and social cohesion in achieving sustainable growth. He encouraged Abians to set aside divisions, promote dialogue, and work collaboratively to overcome challenges affecting the state.
“Peace and unity are the foundation of progress,” Akym said. “When we embrace understanding and cooperation, we create an environment where innovation, investment, and community development can thrive.”
OAU concluded his message by praying for divine guidance for leaders at all levels, hoping that the New Year would bring wisdom, justice, and equitable opportunities to every citizen. He assured Abians that he would continue to advocate for good governance and policies that enhance social and economic well-being.
“Let this New Year be a season of hope, hard work, and collective achievement,” he added. “Together, we can build a prosperous Abia where every citizen feels valued and empowered.”
